Low Back Pain Chiropractor in Jacksonville, FL

Low back pain is the number one reason people walk into PATH Chiropractic & Wellness. Whether it started with a workout, a long day at a desk, picking up your kids or a car accident, Dr. Austin Glennon finds the cause and builds a plan to get you moving again without relying on pain pills.

Common causes of low back pain

  • Joints in the low back or pelvis (SI joint) that are stuck or out of alignment
  • Muscle strains from lifting, training or sports
  • Bulging or herniated discs, often with sciatica down the leg
  • Long hours sitting, driving or working at a computer
  • Pregnancy and postpartum changes (Dr. Glennon is Webster certified)
  • Whiplash and other car accident injuries
  • Scoliosis and long-standing posture changes

When a disc bulges, it can narrow the space where a nerve exits the spine and cause back pain, leg pain, numbness or tingling.

Why we take X-rays

Back pain that looks the same on the outside can have very different causes on the inside. When an exam shows they’re needed, we take full-spine digital X-rays right in our office, so you don’t need a separate imaging appointment and Dr. Glennon can walk you through your own images at your report visit.

Frequently asked questions

Should I see a chiropractor or a doctor for low back pain?

Most low back pain is mechanical, coming from joints, muscles and discs, which is what chiropractors evaluate and treat. Back pain with fever, unexplained weight loss, loss of bladder or bowel control, or numbness in the groin needs medical care right away.

How many visits will I need?

It depends on what’s causing your pain and how long you’ve had it. After your exam and X-rays, Dr. Glennon will give you a clear plan and a realistic timeline before you commit to anything.

Do you take insurance?

PATH is a self-pay practice with straightforward pricing, and we also treat auto accident (PIP) cases. Call us and we’ll explain your options.

Can I keep working out?

Usually yes, with some changes. We’ll tell you what to modify while you heal and how to build back up safely.
